The SoccaGirl Player Sponsorship Scheme launched in July 2023 and was created to support individual girls on their footballing ventures. Meet our current superstars below and find out about their story so far!
Meet our 2023/24 Players
Charlie Hunter - age 10
My name is Charlie, I am 10 years old and have been playing football since August 2020. I play for Daventry Town Pumas as a number 9 where I have been the captain for the 2022/23 season, and I am hoping to keep the arm band as my team, and I start the 2023/24 campaign.
After starting to play football for the very first time in 2020 I fell in love with the beautiful game, it was great to play, making new friendships , share the wins and losses together while always having fun! At the end of the 2021/22, my full first season I wanted to train and play just more than once a week so I decided to trial for Northampton Town U10’s as my coaches thought I was good enough, after six weeks I made it into the team – to take my game further I also trained with the Aston Villa Girls PDC which meant I was training three nights a week across Daventry, Northampton and Birmingham with a one to one session also fitted in.
Now as we get ready for the 2023/24 season, I play in both the number 10 and number 9 role, Captain Daventry Town, resume training with Northampton Town as I was given a season extension contract, continue to train with Aston Villa PDC and start a new adventure with the MK DONS. Playing so much football and for so many different teams while fun for me does have its challenges, the cost of training gear, all the different kits and boots costs a lot of money without the travel costs!
This is why I am so thankful to Lexie and SoccaGirl, their sponsorship allows me to keep playing for all my teams across Daventry, Northampton, Birmingham, and Milton Keynes – helping my mum and dad fund my dream…….

Meredith Pake - age 17
Hi, I'm Meredith! I have just made the jump to women's football after many seasons in the Hampshire Girls Youth Football League; the girls’ game has really evolved since I started playing!
I have been signed by AFC Stoneham Ladies Reserves for the 2023/24 season, and when I needed to find funds to support my kit and travel expenses, SoccaGirl were there to help me. I have followed the SoccaGirl brand since it was first created, having known Lexie since Primary School and proudly watching her build such a fantastic and worthwhile business. My SoccaGirl hoodie I was gifted is extremely comfy and a perfect matchday travelling essential!
